I was browsing through a couple of blogs before I came to a realization that something is missing in my blog – I don’t have a ‘View My Profile’ or an ‘About Me’ page. I ought to introduce myself in my own blog, right?
My name is Winnie Chong Wie (pronounced ‘Wei') Inn. Nobody has ever told me about the meaning of my name so I guess it has no meaning. I have no idea how to write my name in Chinese coz’ I don’t use my Chinese name; people just call me by my English name.
I am an April baby; and my 10 April keychain hanging on my pencil case says that “People born on this date are very well-rounded and have multiple talents. They are usually experts in their field. Can be very firm in upholding their decisions.” I personally question the veracity of the statements because I am NOT well-rounded – I don’t score a CGPA of 4.0, I don’t do sports, I don’t play musical instruments (well I actually picked up guitar a couple of months ago and spent 2 hours learning the G chord) and I can’t dance (ask James, he knows!). So you can conclude that I’m no expert in any fields. I have problems verbalizing my thoughts too.
I am a perfectionist – I like things to be in order. I won’t read my storybooks unless I’ve wrapped them and I always spend hours beautifying my notes. Sometimes I think I have the Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder – I have this weird habit of flushing the toilet BEFORE using it (of course I flush again after using it!); and I brush my teeth after every meal. Although I am Chinese, I have Sinophobia (fear of Chinese people and things but in my case, Chinese things). Lions and dragon dances give me nightmares, I feel that burning joss sticks pollutes the air and I’d rather eat using my bare hands than using the very complicated chopsticks. You can say I grow up westernized but no, I don’t support pre-marital sex. I think French kisses are romantic, though.
During my free time I enjoy listening to music. I’m trying to get a 160GB iPod from my parents but so far luck is not on my side, so I have to put up with my ancient Sony mp3 player. I have an eclectic taste in music, but I’m not so fond of slow songs. Besides, I love to watch series – my current favourite is Gossip Girl (your one and only source to the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite!). I even made Joe and Mark watch it. I’m sure Joe likes it but Mark has yet to comment whether he likes it or not (I think he secretly likes it). And oh, I love Little Britain too! “Don’t give me evils!” Although I’m already 19 I still enjoy watching Hannah Montana and High School Musical; I can’t wait for High School Musical 3: Senior Year to hit the cinemas. Also, I love to read chick lits and manuals over thick Chemistry textbooks.
I am a very picky eater – I don’t eat vegetables (but love KFC’s coleslaw coz’ they don’t taste like vegetables), I don’t drink milk and Milo (they are really smelly) but I like cheese. And I love coffee. I enjoy eating my mum’s mushroom soup and mashed potatoes, I frequent McDonald’s coz’ I love its Filet-O-Fish, and I absolutely love spaghetti sprinkled with loads of cheese. Myth: I don’t eat a lot considering I’m not fat. Fact: I eat more than guys. No kidding!
I think people with freckles are cute. My favourite subject in school is English (nothing to memorize!). I love to watch Rachael Ray and Jamie Oliver cook although I can’t cook. I like the smell of dental clinics and pharmacies because they smell really good.
I love my friends very much, so I tend to get over-protective over them all the time. They teach me a lot of new things everyday, and I really appreciate them very much. They are really nice people; my mum doesn’t have to worry when I’m with them.
I have a soft spot for guys with small, dreamy eyes. I hope to get rich next time so that I can set up a centre for stray cats and dogs to live in. I also want to buy for my best friend the new Samsung Omnia that he wants so much. And a Chihuahua for another close friend.
If I were to continue elaborating I'll need more than one post. In conclusion, I'm weird. I think.
P/s: A huge shoutout to Jansen who turns 20 today, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
