American Idol 8

Americans, please let Arkansas heartthrob Kris Allen be the American Idol this season. Let that gay too-much-mascara-and-eyeliner Adam Lambert lose. Girls, look at Kris and you know he's The One. I bet any guy would fall in love with him too. Just look at those eyes. Too bad he's married =(

Don't think I want him to win just because he's hot. Take a listen to his rendition of Kanye West's 'Heartless' or Michael Jackson's 'Man in the Mirror' or Bill Wither's 'Ain't No Sunshine' or the finale song co-written by Idol judge Kara DioGuardi 'No Boundaries' and you will get what I mean. He has the talents while that Adam just shrieks all his way to the top, I have no idea how he managed to even be in the finale. Kris's 'Heartless' just climbed onto the #1 spot in my iPod's Top 25 Most Played while Adam's songs are nowhere in my laptop and iPod. No offense, Adam's fans (particularly Tze Ching)!

I'm not homophobic but I do prefer straight men. And men who can play the guitar. And men with dreamy eyes. And also men who can sing and not shriek.

Singapore - Back and Very Glad

Home sweet home - I'm back in Sitiawan after a 5-day holiday in Singapore in my quest to fill up my very empty passport. Just kidding.

The journey back from Singapore on Friday was really bad I vow never to visit Singapore by land anymore. Next time I'll search for the RM1.00 Air Asia offer to Singapore instead, I don't care about the ammonia smell as long as I can get there faster.

Singapore is indeed a very beautiful country, no doubt. A country where I can use my iPod to the max since everyone there listens to it 24/7.

And look at this one thing that I've bought from Times! So excited. Yeah, my one and only source to the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite. And the cover has Blair Waldorf and Dan Humphrey kissing Serena van der Woodsen on it. Definitely a must-buy. Picture taken at Starbucks, Orchard Road while waiting for Jyh Huei - we met up for lunch. It was great meeting up with a Sitiawan friend in Singapore.

I can sense Lee Hann cursing Gossip Girl as he reads this. I saw Dexter too but chose to buy Gossip Girl over it. The Dexter book does not have Dexter Morgan on the cover. If it had I'd buy it.

And I particularly love the scenery outside of Vivo City, the largest shopping centre in Singapore. I took the MRT there on my own *so proud* It was 9 stations from the place I stayed (Serangoon), around 21 minutes of MRT ride to Harbour Front. The cable cars behind were heading to Sentosa Island but I did not go. Did not have the guts to do so on my own.

I'm so glad to be home again coz' I need not worry about getting my own food. My typical breakfast in Singapore is this - 7 Eleven's quick bites while chatting online with my bestie. How to survive university life in the future, I have no idea.

Overall the trip was great, but I could have visited more places had I known earlier the location of the Serangoon MRT station.

Now that I'm back it's time to prepare for university! Now where can I get a really nice backpack for my laptop?

You know you love me.

A Twist from My Usual Morning

Greetings from Singapore!

Reached here at approximately 6.00 a.m. to be screened by the Singapore customs for swine flu. They really freaked me out with all the masks and questions like "Have you been to Mexico lately?". As this is my first time here the customs officer gave me evils.

So after a short nap after what seemed like a 10-hour journey (longer than the flight to Australia!), I'm here online using my cousin's laptop while she's off working. She's really awesome - she travelled here with me last night and we reached at 6.00 a.m. and now she's working. Imagine the energy she had in her.

Singapore's pretty cold right now, it has been raining ever since I got here. Or maybe it's the air-conditioning in the room. Oh well. I'm homesick already!

Luckily my mum insisted that I bring snacks with me here. She's so smart - I have no idea where to get my lunch soon as my cousin will only be back for dinner so I'll be snacking or having instant noodles for lunch.

May Started Well

I woke up this morning to the sound of a cat meowing at the back of my house. Curious, I opened the back door to find this orange kitten meowing from the drain. It was shivering and its body was wet, so I reckoned it must have slipped into the drain and could not get back out. I stood there watching for 5 minutes formulating a plan to rescue the kitten without having to dirty my hands. At first I thought of getting a rope to let the kitten climb out but realized I was being silly - a kitten cannot possibly hold on to a rope and climb back out.

As I was thinking the kitten meowed even louder while looking at me with its sad face. Realizing that there was no other way, I reached down to the kitten and scooped it out of the drain with my hands. I did not have gloves, so all I had were my bare hands. Its body was very warm as I held it. My heart ached when the kitten limped back to its mother as soon as I dropped it to the ground. Poor the kitten. Animals love, why can't humans love like them?

I had always bluffed in my answers in Moral tests. Remember how the questions were like?
Situation: You were walking home from school one day when you saw a kitten in the drain, unable to get out of it. What would you do?
Our answer would always be: I will save the kitten by taking it out of the drain.

Cats are cute creatures. I even thought of presenting the kitten to Joe, who adores cats.

Today I did a good deed, and I am proud of myself.
